About ProofAge

ProofAge is an age and identity verification API. It proves a user's age or identity with the least data needed, steps up only when necessary, and keeps banned users out.

All of them run through one integration. We help you integrate: ready SDKs (Laravel/PHP, Node.js and Python), an MCP server and an integration prompt for AI coding agents, and direct help from the developers who built it. See for developers and how we handle data.

Why we built it

Our software agency, IT Brains, has built products for clients since 2015. One of those projects needed age checks and identity verification (KYC).

The vendors we tried were expensive. The one we started to integrate had three separate products for checking age from a face and sold protections we needed as paid add-ons. Support was hard to reach and slow to help, and production and staging settings, from webhook URLs to API keys, went back and forth in a shared spreadsheet.

So we offered the business owner our own service. They agreed, became our first customer, and still are. We built features for them that the other vendors did not offer, and what is a paid add-on elsewhere comes included. ProofAge still works that way: one public price with every check and protection in it, and the developers who built it answering your questions.

    IT Brains SASU is registered in France

  3. January 2026

    Work on ProofAge begins

    The team starts building an age and identity verification service.

    The first version is ready

    The Shopify app is published

    Age checks at checkout for online stores on Shopify.

  7. June 2026

    The WooCommerce plugin is published

    The same checks for WordPress stores.

  8. October 2026

    EUDI Wallet age verification opens in beta

    Ready ahead of the official launch of the EU wallets, expected at the end of 2026 or early 2027. Until then it runs on test data, and customers switch it on by writing to us in the dashboard chat.
